Stitch Sew & Show ~ 2021 ~ Wrap-Up from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome!

As the year is coming to an end, I am looking back and looking forward.

This will be the last time I post this weekly linky party.

As happens between Thanksgiving and Christmas, my energies have been focused elsewhere and I have done very little sewing, stitching or blogging.

I am in the process of deciding if I want to continue this linky party in 2022.

I have made some lovely new friends here and stayed connected with a few old ones, too.

This makes me happy.

Mostly, this is a no-stress thing for me.

If I stitch, I ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 45 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 45

The year is blowing away on a crisp fall breeze.

I have had another busy week, but I have found some time to stitch and sew.

I have added a few more letters to my "G" word.

There has been some lovely guesses as to what this may be saying.

Hint: This is a Christmas themed cross-stitch.

I have never stitched on black aida before and it is much more difficult than I thought, especially when using white thread. Every little messy thread shows.

I have also made two more blocks for my ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 43 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 43

I have completed the stitching October Cross Stitch Along!

I have pulled fabrics and have a plan

for how I want to finish and display this next October.

I completed the stitching on last block late on Halloween night.

I have been enjoying this for a few days while I have decided that a few on my stitches need to be fixed before finishing. There is a letter in "Brew" that somehow got messed up while I was working on this that needs replacing. I have also decided that the colored lettering on ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 41 ~ Still Slow Stitching from Life in the Scrapatch

 Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 41

Is it Wednesday already?

I have been sitting and slowly stitching.
Today I carried my stitching with me for my annual physical
and a visit to the bloodwork lab.
I am well, it is just the routine stuff.

Here is my progress on my

October Halloween Stitch Along @ Pine Needles

This photo was taken a day or so ago.

I am not catching up very fast.

I will continue my slow stitching and see what I decide after Halloween

if I have not completed this sampler.

I am enjoying the stitching and the lovely group ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 40 ~ More Sitting and Stitching from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 40

I have been stitching ~ I have not been sewing.

It seems my vision issues allow me to choose one or the other and when I need to take a break from one, I need to take a break from the other.

I have also been helping Mr. Scrapatch who is replacing the ceiling and light in one of the bedrooms. In all honesty, he is doing all the actual work of tearing out the old and replacing with the new. My contribution is more as support staff.

No photos of this mess.

This ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 39 ~ Sewing Machine Spa Day from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 39

I have been stitching this week on my

October Halloween Stitch Along @ Pine Needles

This has been a fun project.

I have not been sewing.

My workhorse of a sewing machine, my Janome 6600p needs a spa day.

I have been having a difficult time adjusting the tension,

something that has never happened before in my almost daily sewing sessions.

It has been two years, almost to the day,

since she has been professionally cleaned and serviced.

The last time was this

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 38!

My Bats & Boos Quilt ~Started Here is finished!

I completed the binding on Monday and took it out for a few photos in natural light before packing it up for its journey. I am sending this to my daughter and here family for a sofa snuggle quilt. I am happy they will be able to enjoy it for the full month of October.

This started as a quilt along project.

The center blocks are all from the

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 37 ~ Back to Quilting from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome To Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 37

I have been quilting my Bats & Boos Quilt.

Nutmeg has been my ever present quilty helper and inspector for this quilt.

This is the first quilt that I have had on my long arm since early this year.

Where has the time gone?

Even Nutmeg looks puzzled.

Katniss is unconcerned.

As long as Katniss has her basket in the window, she is a happy cat.

I am quilting all over swirls of cauldron smoke on the backgrounds.

For the blocks, I am adding some custom free guided quilting.

It is good to be ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 36 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 36

The backing is pieced for my Bats & Boos Quilt

and I am getting ready to quilt.

I used up a Halloween panel, some of the extra fabric from my quilt and other fabrics from my stash.

I posted the tutorial for my Witch Hat Block HERE.

Life in the Scrapatch has been busy, but I am finding some time each day to sew and to enjoy the wonderful projects in the making by all my quilty friends.

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 35 ~ More Bats & Boos from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 35

Here is my

Bats & Boos QAL Quilt

quilt top!

I have not been on the computer much, but I have been sewing.

I am sewing the pieced backing for this quilt

and hope to soon have it on my longarm.

I posted my Witch Hat Block here last Thursday

and promised a tutorial.

I am still promising to have it up soon.

I really liked how this block capped off my pumpkin blocks and extended the purple print from the bat blocks into the border.

My quilt top now measures 65" square which ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 32 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 32

I have been working on my

Bats & Boos Mystery QAL

This is the first on the four pumpkin blocks.

I have played with the fabrics and made a few personal design changes.

The biggest change was the stems

These are the pieces I cut to make a more traditional stem instead of the hour glass units in the original cutting instructions.

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 31 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show  ~ Week 31

I am working on my 30 Days of Improv Blocks QAL .

Here is my Block 2 for Stripes Week.

The prompt suggested working with skinny and wider strips as a design element.

I am happy with this block and think it will work well with my last week blocks.

I was thinking "filmstrip" when I was playing with the narrow black and white print strips.  Adding the strip border made with my shorter strip pieces adds a nice improv touch, I think.

Playing with these strips has been a fun diversion from all ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 29 ~ Dwell in Possibility from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 29

I have been sewing everyday.

I have been picking and choosing from a stack of ongoing projects.

Above are two new blocks for my

Kinship Fusion Sampler Quilt

As I am on the second half of the 100 blocks, I am feeling very hopeful that I will accomplish my goal of completing all the blocks.

I introduced a new fabric in these blocks.

One is the green background, as I am starting to use up the original scraps and such that I have incorporated into these blocks.

The other is the black print ...

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 28

Welcome to my Summer Garden, too!

The main block was this cute Honeybee Block Posted Here

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week # 27 ~ Sampler Spree from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 27

I have been sewing daily again on old projects and new ones.

It is good to be stitching in my happy place.

This little 6 inch Friendship Star is my most recent block
and it is the start of a new big quilt.

In April is saw this Let's Make a Sampler Announcement
